To start, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to AI tools for refining my content. With the help of an AI model, it is much easier to create versions of my resume tailored to a particular industry. After uploading my original resume to the site, I used precise prompts to get what I wanted: “turn this into a polished professional resume,” “create a version focused on marketing,” or “reframe my experience for finance roles.” I noticed that the more specific I was with prompts, naming skills I wanted highlighted, listing jobs, or explaining future career goals, the more tailored and precise the results were. I found differences in structure, in wording, and even in emphasis between the original and AI-generated versions. The marketing resume said something about communication, teamwork, and audience engagement, but the finance-focused one emphasized a number of my analytical and bookkeeping skills. Although the jobs were the same, the language had been changed to meet the expectations of either field. This process taught me the importance of clarity when it comes to AI. Good prompt engineering provides context, defines the purpose of the output, and understands the audience being targeted. All in all, it showed me how AI can become a helpful tool in better tailoring professional documents.
